The Reside Living Difference
While all SDA houses must meet the requirements of the BCA, many commissioned under the scheme settle for basic, ‘cookie cutter’ designs that fail to inspire long-term livability. These homes often lack essentials such as ample living spaces and wider hallways, and they miss the charm, character, and warmth that transform a house into a true home.
At Reside, we believe in going beyond the minimum standards, crafting homes that are not only functional but truly inviting, creating spaces where our participants can thrive—today and in the future. Homes that participants will love.
We are dedicated to ensuring that every home we design is built with the highest quality materials, because we understand that standard building practices and materials can compromise the health and safety of our residents. Our commitment to excellence means we prioritise the use of superior materials to create a healthier, more comfortable living environment.
To further elevate the livability of each home, we incorporate thoughtful features such as:
Extra wide doorways measuring 1.2 metres for enhanced accessibility
High 2.7m+ ceilings to improve airflow
Floor to ceiling windows to improve natural light
Wide hallways for easy mobility and accessibility
Designer kitchens with adjustable bench tops
An ensuite to every bedroom
High-impact walls and skirting
Zero threshold external access to participant bedrooms
Kitchenettes in all bedrooms
Split system air conditioning in every room
Single-hoist transportation from bed to bathroom facilities
AAA Grade Slip Resistant Porcelain Tiles
Smart Home Automation

THE RESIDE PROMISE.
Where exceptional design meets heartfelt care, creating homes that truly make a difference.
To be included in the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) scheme, each home must meet specific design requirements set by the NDIS. These requirements are established based on the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and the NDIS SDA Design Standard Edition 1.1 classifications, which are divided into four essential categories outlined below.
These four categories are crucial for the well-being of NDIS/SDA participants and are integral to the design philosophy at Reside. In most cases our homes are meticulously constructed to address the three design categories of Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible and High Physical Support under one roof, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive living environment that caters to diverse needs.
